SAILLAC, the walnut “Marbot” village
Saillac is famous for its walnuts. The village benefits from a rich patrimony
:
- the fortified church dating from the XIIth century, with a painted tympanum,
representing the Wise Men in Adoration, it is a real master piece !
- a lovely place with an oil mill, a blacksmith trave, and soon, a walnut
house which will give information about the fruit.
You will find bed and breakfast, and a lot of holiday cottages.
Thanks to three associations, numerous feasts take place in the village :
- a biennial walnut feast at the beginning of October.
- A local feast in July
- A Saint Jean feast in June
You will be also charmed by its lovely footpaths.
