LIGNEYRAC, perched on the hillside
The village has 300 inhabitants.
You will be charmed by the architectural harmony of Ligneyrac. The Romanesque
church shows a beautiful bell-tower.
You will be also astonished by the covered oratory.
The village, perched on
the hillside is dubbed “Rocamadour Corrézien”.
Above it is the castle of Robert de Ligneyrac.
The castles of Peuch (XV-XVIth centuries) and La Rue (XVI-XVIIth centuries)
are also part of the village.
If you like going for walks, Ligneyrac will suit you, you will enjoy the view
on Turenne castle.
Agriculture is an important source of income for Ligneyrac : raspberries, melons,
pastures, walnuts and, of course, veals.
Two main feasts take place in the village : the Saint Jean Fire takes place
at the end of June, and the other feast at the end of May.
Thanks to five associations, it is a busy village.
